Our client currently has an opportunity for an HSE professional to support a manufacturing facility with all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental matters which are required for product quality, legislative compliance, safe methods of working, statutory requirements and the protection of employees, plant and property. 


The role comes with a competitive salary, 25 Days Holiday plus Statutory Bank Holidays, and a Defined Contribution Pension Scheme (up-to 12% combined contribution).


You will report into the Plant Manager and also have secondary reporting duties to the UK QHSE Manager.


As part of your key responsibilities you will be required to:


  • Support the Plant Manager with all site production activities and products relating to HSE aspects and impacts.
  • Apply HSE procedures and operational instructions regarding Health, Safety and the local Environment Conditions within the manufacturing facility.
  • Monitor and collect data related to Waste Management, Environmental Permits and Gas, Water and Energy consumption.
  • Train and instruct on HSE management matters and specific-job HSE issues.
  • Implement HSE legislative changes.
  • Conduct HSE meetings at site / factory level and participate in HSE meetings at Country Level.
  • Report & investigate incidents on-site including accidents, diseases, near misses and dangerous occurrences.
  • Chair the HSE Committee at the manufacturing facility.
  • Implement and maintain the ISO45001 and ISO14001 Management Systems, which also includes audits, non-conformities, observations, document control and management reviews.


The ideal candidate should be educated to degree level in an engineering or alternative technical discipline, however experience of working within an HSE capacity within a manufacturing environment will also be considered.


You will have working knowledge of HSE legislation and have as a minimum, the NEBOSH General Certificate.  Strong communication, interpersonal skills and influencing skills are essential as part of this hands-on position.
