Our client is a worldwide manufacturing organisation who are looking for a Sub-Contract Buyer to join their Purchasing Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Company’s spend with regard to HV Systems procurement activities ensuring that products and services are supplied at the best value.

The selected candidate will work closely with the HV business and will be responsible for the onboarding of suppliers, negotiating contracts with suppliers, enhancing contract terms and conditions to reduce commercial risk, and generating statistical information on time.



  • Negotiate, review and reconcile sub-contractor packages, flow down terms and programme requirements through the tender process.
  • Produce procurement programmes and ensure these are adhered to.
  • Ensure all sub-contractors have had the required information to enable them to provide timely quotations that are compliant.
  • Support the Commercial Team.
  • Attend handover meetings ensuring sub-contractor procurement is carried out in line with Production Team requirements.
  • Deliver cost savings and cost reduction innovations. To measure & review performance and implement continuous improvement.
  • Adopt a pragmatic, yet disciplined approach to process compliance.
  • Evaluate supplier responses, negotiate with suppliers and place orders in line with company procedures.
  • Focus on delivering added value through technical competence, functional knowledge and process efficiency, including the use of call-off contracts where possible.
  • Ensure all documentation is collated and stored in line with company policies.
  • Preparation of Management Plan in line with company procedures & Central Purchasing guidelines. 




  • HNC/Degree Level Qualified.

  • Experience in a commercial environnement.

  • Excellent analytical and budgeting abilities

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Sound working knowledge of MS Office and experience with SAP.

  • Highly persuasive interpersonal skills.
