We are working with a well-renowned utilities contractor firm, supporting their search for a skilled Electrical Installation Engineer, who will become an active member of their talented engineering team, on a contract basis. Within this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient electrical system installation and maintenance, adhering to quality standards. This opportunity offers a site-based working environment, with operations occurring from their main site in Cardiff. -Competitive rate of £30 per hour (subject to experience). -On-site working arrangement. Responsibilities: -Install, assess, and commission complex electrical systems, across various multidisciplinary projects, adhering to industry standards and regulations. -Analyse and read electrical system drawings, specifications, and schematics, considering these outputs within designs, ensuring accurate installation processes. -Conduct electrical fitting works on HV transformers, switch gear, and other relevant electrical equipment and resources. -Manage the installation of earthing systems, protection and control equipment, and outdoor equipment, including switchgear, bus bar, and disconnectors. -Oversee and monitor the upkeep of HV equipment, whilst identifying faults on LV and HV resources, ensuring quality, accuracy, functionality and consistency. -Conduct frequent site visits, identify and resolve electrical faults, finalise remedial works, whilst maintaining accuracy across HV documentation and reports. Requirements: -Relevant qualification, or similar academic discipline, in electrical installation, and valid electrician credentials, with a NG Persons status. -Extensive experience as an Electrical Installation Engineer, or a related position, installing and maintaining electrical systems. -Significant acknowledgment of wiring regulations, such as BS 7671 and IET Wiring Regulations, as well as electrical safety procedures and practices. -Strong interpretation skills with regards to drawings, schematics, and documentation, with a strong attention to detail, and effective problem-solving initiatives. -Profound communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent responsibilities effectively, under time and budget pressures.
