This role offers hybrid working from their Manchester office, with the option to consider locations in Glasgow, London, or Birmingham. Key Responsibilities of your role: -Design and analysis of HVDC systems, including converter stations and substations. -Ensure designs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements, focusing on safety and efficiency. -Work with multidisciplinary teams to integrate HVDC systems with electrical and civil infrastructure. -Work with clients to define requirements and provide technical guidance. -Create technical documentation, including design reports and specifications. What we are looking for: -PhD, MSc, MEng or BEng degrees in Electrical Engineering /Electrical Power Systems or similar. -Experience with high-voltage power systems. -Knowledge of UK and international grid connection processes and Grid Codes. -Client and project management experience. -In-depth understanding of HVDC technologies and converter station designs. -Proven experience in HVDC projects, including interconnectors and onshore/offshore schemes. -Strong background in HVDC system studies, with excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences. -Chartered Engineer or working towards IET chartership is preferable.
