An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a specialist engineering consultancy supporting major infrastructure projects across the energy, utilities and power sectors. This Senior Geotechnical Engineer role is ideal for someone with strong geotechnical analysis experience who enjoys solving complex ground engineering challenges across high-profile infrastructure projects. You'll provide technical expertise on schemes involving power networks, gas infrastructure, pipelines, renewable energy and major civil engineering developments. The successful Senior Geotechnical Engineer will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams, delivering geotechnical assessments and advanced numerical modelling to support nationally significant infrastructure projects. The Role As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you'll be responsible for: Delivering geotechnical design and technical assessments across major infrastructure projects Undertaking advanced geotechnical analysis using PLAXIS 2D and PLAXIS 3D Supporting projects involving energy infrastructure, utilities, pipelines and power networks Producing geotechnical reports, calculations and design recommendations Advising project teams on ground engineering risks and mitigation strategies Working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop practical engineering solutions Supporting site investigations and interpreting geotechnical data Attending technical meetings and occasional site visits when required Ensuring designs comply with relevant industry standards and client requirements This Senior Geotechnical Engineer position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of nationally important infrastructure projects while remaining technically hands-on. What We're Looking For We're looking for a technically strong Senior Geotechnical Engineer who can make an immediate impact. Ideally, you'll have: Previous experience as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer or Geotechnical Engineer A minimum of five years' geotechnical engineering experience Advanced experience using PLAXIS 2D and PLAXIS 3D Strong geotechnical design and analysis capability Experience delivering infrastructure or utilities projects Excellent technical reporting and communication skills Ability to work independently while supporting multidisciplinary project teams The following would be highly advantageous: Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) Experience with PLEXIS/PLE4WIN or similar geotechnical software Experience across power, gas, pipelines, utilities or renewable energy projects CSCS Card (or willingness to obtain one) Candidates should have recent, practical PLAXIS experience rather than academic-only exposure. This Project Manager role is ideal for someone with a strong background in electrical infrastructure who enjoys managing complex utility projects from inception through to completion. You'll oversee multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and contractors, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget. The successful Project Manager will play a key role in delivering major power infrastructure schemes while helping to develop teams, improve project delivery processes and build long-term client relationships. Site Engineer – Power Infrastructure / T&D Projects (Contract) Location: Birmingham (Site-Based Role) Rate: £400 per day (Outside IR35) Job Type: Contract – 6 Months (Rolling – Long-Term Project) Hours: 50 hours per week Start Date: ASAP Urgent Requirement – Long-Term Project – Immediate Interviews This role offers the chance to work on a long-term site-based project, supporting the Site Manager and overseeing construction activities, subcontractors and technical delivery on-site. The successful Site Engineer will play a key role in setting out, quality assurance, technical coordination and site supervision, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
