Civil, Structural and Architectural Industry Insights with Will Guegan

Q: Introduce yourself and what you do here at Blueprint

A: “My name is Will, and I sit on the Civil, Structural and Architecture team here at Blueprint. I’ve been here for about a year and a half now and I am a recruitment consultant in the business.”

Q: What does your day-to-day look like as a Recruitment Consultant?

A: "In terms of my daily responsibilities, I focus on fostering strong communication and cultivating relationships with our clients. My core objective revolves around enlarging our clientele base. I tend to do this by reaching out to new companies and nurturing our existing client relationships."

“My approach involves providing guidance on the Civil, Structural, and Architectural industry, highlighting emerging market trends, and offering insights into salary benchmarks. This comprehensive support is geared toward enhancing our clients' understanding and decision-making within these domains.”

Q: Could you provide an overview of the current developments within the Civil, Structural, and Architectural Sector?

A: “Currently within the Civil & Structural market, the major project that we are working on and supplying to is HS2. Unfortunately, it’s started to slow down after the news last month that the northern leg of the line has been terminated.”

“Following this, we are seeing a large increase in the need for nuclear workers, particularly for experienced engineers within the nuclear market. It’s definitely a field experiencing considerable growth.”

“We can also see this trend consistently progressing through the various RIBA stages within the architectural divisions we work in.”

Q: What diversifies Blueprint as a market-leader within the Civil, Structural and Architecture division?

A: "I would say that our industry-leading, expert knowledge base really makes us stand out as a top agency. Particularly, the Civil, Structural, and Architectural division within Blueprint is comprised of a team of extremely knowledgeable recruiters and consultants, especially at Senior and Lead level, enabling us to deliver exceptional talent solutions.

“We add value to our clients and candidates by offering expert market knowledge, IR35 advice, and we assist in providing recruitment support for some of the UKs biggest construction projects, as well as various SMEs across the country on both a contract and permanent basis.”

Q: Any concluding remarks?

A: “Well, hopefully that’s given you a little bit more of an insight into what I do on the Civil, Structural and Architecture team as a Recruitment Consultant! If there are any potential clients reading this that we’re not already working with it would be great to hear from you.”

“On the same length, it would be great to hear from any candidates, contract or permanent, that are looking for their next career challenge as well.
