Calling all Setting Out Engineers!

Blueprint Recruitment are looking to speak with skilled Setting Out Engineers who are interested in joining a leading utilities contractor in South Wales. This fantastic opportunity involves working on a major Substation project and requires expertise in surveying, civil documentation, and constructability reviews. This is a hands-on position with opportunities to contribute to critical infrastructure projects in the electrical power and transmission sector.

Our client is a well-established contractor specialising in the electrical power and transmission sector. With a proven track record of delivering complex projects, they are committed to providing high-quality engineering solutions. Working across key infrastructure projects, they combine technical expertise with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Set out line and level using a range of surveying equipment, including EDM and GPS.
• Populate Civil Quality Assurance documentation, such as Inspection & Test Plans and Checklists.
• Act as the site document controller, managing and maintaining Civil drawings.
• Complete as-built documentation as work progresses.
• Undertake constructability reviews with the Civil Site Manager and Supervisor, raising Technical Queries (TQs) as needed.
• Support the Civil site team by obtaining quotes and placing material orders.

Requirements

• Experience in setting out engineering, particularly on electrical power and transmission projects.
• Proficiency with surveying equipment (EDM/GPS).
• Familiarity with National Grid substations and standards (NGTS 2.10 & 3.10) is highly desirable.
• Ability to produce and manage Civil QA documentation.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to act as site document controller.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with site teams.
