Blueprint Recruitment are working alongside a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy, who are searching for a highly skilled Civil Structural Engineer to join their dynamic team in Manchester. This permanent position requires the successful candidate to operate on a hybrid basis, attending our client’s office just once a week to work on a range of exciting aviation, custodial, pharmaceutical and industrial projects.

Our client delivers engineering, design, and project management services across multiple industries, including life sciences, manufacturing, infrastructure, and public sector projects. They are known for their ability to handle intricate and high-profile tasks, such as designing pharmaceutical plants, advanced manufacturing facilities, and overseeing nuclear decommissioning efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver civil and structural engineering solutions for aviation, custodial, pharmaceutical, and industrial projects.
  • Design and analyse structural components to ensure compliance with client and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports, design calculations, and specifications to support project delivery.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables, maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Attend client meetings and site visits to ensure effective communication and understanding of project needs.
  • Apply innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges, integrating sustainable and efficient designs.
  • Utilise industry-standard tools and software for design, modelling, and project management.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • Chartered Engineer status (or working towards chartership) with a relevant professional body, such as ICE or IStructE.
  • Proven experience in the design and delivery of civil and structural projects, ideally within the aviation, custodial, pharmaceutical, or industrial sectors.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar).
  • AutoCAD 2D and 3D software.
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk REVIT a bonus
  • Knowledge and understanding of traditional building materials, e.g. Steel, Timber, Concrete and RC and overall site wide infrastructure and earthworks
  • Strong understanding of UK building regulations and design codes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a hybrid working model.
