This is a hands-on, site-based role within the power and civils sector, requiring expertise in National Grid safety procedures and plant operation. Our client is a respected contractor in the power and civil engineering sectors, delivering complex infrastructure projects across the UK. Their expertise spans substations, utilities, and large-scale construction, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure site safety and compliance with National Grid standards.
• Assist in the delivery of substation projects, supporting civil and electrical teams.
• Operate site machinery, including telehandlers or diggers, if ticketed.
• Work collaboratively with engineers and site managers to maintain project efficiency.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Requirements:

• NG Persons certification (essential).
• NSI 6 & NSI 8 qualifications (required).
• Telehandler or digger ticket (required).
• Experience in power and civils projects within substations.
• Strong awareness of site safety and risk management.
• Ability to work full-time on-site in Melksham.
