Attention all CRE Engineers!


Blueprint Recruitment is seeking a skilled and driven CRE Engineer to join a leading multi-disciplinary consultancy on a permanent basis in London. The successful candidate will be joining their Rail team, with opportunities to contribute to their wider Infrastructure Engineering team, including Maritime and Asset Management. This position suits an experienced professional ready to lead client interactions and support the growth and development of junior team members.

The role involves working with a vibrant and growing team on a diverse range of projects, such as station developments, accessibility schemes, bridge design and renewals. It also provides excellent opportunities for career progression. The selected candidate will be required to operate on a hybrid basis, attending the London office two days per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead or support project delivery, ensuring time and budget adherence.
  • Conduct and review designs and calculations in line with standards and requirements.
  • Oversee multi-disciplinary design coordination and integration.
  • Act as a line manager and mentor to junior team members.
  • Engage with clients through meetings, presentations, and site visits.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, drawings, and risk assessments.
  • Manage financial and technical aspects of projects.
  • Support tender preparation and fee proposals.

Required Experience

  • Extensive experience in civil/structural engineering, ideally in the rail or infrastructure sectors.
  • Chartered/Incorporated status with ICE/IStructE, or close to achieving it.
  • Strong knowledge of design standards, including Eurocodes, Network Rail, Railway Group, and British Standards.
  • Familiarity with Network Rail engineering assurance processes.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis tools (e.g., Tekla Tedds, S-Frame 3D, MIDAS).
  • Solid understanding of relevant CDM regulations and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Proven experience in project management and client-facing roles.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
