Calling all Document Controllers!

Blueprint Recruitment are seeking an experienced and highly organised Document Controller to join a world-class engineering consultancy on a long-term contract basis in either London, Manchester or Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and controlling project documentation in line with our client’s company standards. You will ensure the correct numbering, filing, sorting, and retrieval of electronically stored documentation for a variety of exciting Rail and Transportation projects.

Our client is a leading engineering services and nuclear organisation, renowned for its global team of consultants, designers, engineers and project managers. Due to their increasing workload, they are seeking a motivated Document Controller to join their dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the numbering, filing, sorting, and retrieval of electronically stored documentation from project teams.
  • Ensure proper identification of documents and compliance with standard templates and formats.
  • Conduct quality and compliance checks on all documentation before issuance.
  • Register and maintain documents in the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS).
  • Maintain and manage document registers and trackers for multiple projects.
  • Ensure external contractors adhere to company standards, procedures, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Prepare ad-hoc project reports as required.
  • Manage project files from initiation to closeout.
  • Oversee the transmittal of information between the company, contractors, and other project stakeholders, ensuring accurate logging for tracking purposes.
  • Participate in document control training sessions as required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Substantial amount of relevant experience in document control and record management.
  • EB software knowledge.
  • Strong knowledge of document control and management processes.
  • Ability to work systematically and efficiently, even under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Expertise in Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) such as ProjectWise, AssetWise, and Business Collaborator.
  • Highly adaptable to change, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
