Attention all Senior Electrical Design Engineers!

Blueprint Recruitment have a fantastic new opportunity for a motivated Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a global engineering company on a long-term contract basis. This position is outside IR35, and provides a great opportunity to work on a variety of exciting data centre projects. The successful candidate will be expected to operate on a largely remote basis,  attending the London office 1 day per week. This is a lead role will require a focus on both design and client-facing aspects.

Key responsibilities

• Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems - power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc.
• Undertakes a client facing role in the development and design and coordination of engineering project services for Mechanical installations, systems, equipment, facilities.
• Managing own workload, updating forward plan of workload regularly and working to time allocations.
• Carry out the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, in-house developed tools.
• Checking the design work of fellow team members and external designers in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Preparing conceptual designs with a view to ensuring safe, practical, and economic solutions in accordance with current standards.

Key requirements

• Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related subjects.
• Complex project experience required, including data centres, hospital, pharmaceutical, nuclear projects.
• Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools including Amtech/Prodesign, Dialux/Relux, NBS and Microsoft packages. Any HV tools will also be beneficial.
• Awareness of the principles of building physics such as passive design solutions and fabric first approaches.
