Attention all Electrical Design Engineers!

Blueprint Recruitment have a fantastic new opportunity for a motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join a global engineering company on a contract basis. This position is outside IR35, and provides a great opportunity to work on a variety of exciting data centre projects. The successful candidate will operate on a remote basis, however some presence in the London office is preferred from time to time.

Key responsibilities

·          Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems - power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc.

·         Undertakes a client facing role in the development and design and coordination of engineering project services for Mechanical installations, systems, equipment, facilities.

·         Managing own workload, updating forward plan of workload regularly and working to time allocations.

·         Carry out the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, in-house developed tools.

·         Checking the design work of fellow team members and external designers in accordance with departmental procedures.

·         Preparing conceptual designs with a view to ensuring safe, practical, and economic solutions in accordance with current standards.

Key requirements

·         Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related subjects.

·         Solid background working on Data Centre projects.

·         Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools including Amtech/Prodesign, Dialux/Relux, NBS and Microsoft packages. Any HV tools will also be beneficial.

·         Awareness of the principles of building physics such as passive design solutions and fabric first approaches.
