Exciting opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer!

Blueprint Recruitment are looking to speak with talented Electrical Design Engineers who are interested in joining a leading contractor. The long-term contract position offers the chance to work on a variety of exciting data centre and commercial projects. This is a rare opportunity to get into data centre work without any prior experience! The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking and able to handle a number of schemes on the go.This is a hybrid position where the selected candidate will be required to attend the London office 3 times per week.

Their specialised teams handle everything from fit-outs and electrical systems to critical infrastructure and building management.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed drawings, schematics, and bill of materials for electrical systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
• Collaborate with the design and project teams to develop and implement innovative solutions for electrical installations, electronic systems, and communication engineering projects.
• Conduct technical analysis, problem-solving, and system optimisation to support high-performance infrastructure delivery.
• Maintain a high standard of attention to detail, ensuring all designs meet both technical requirements and industry standards.
• Apply your knowledge of mechanical or electrical engineering to deliver effective, sustainable, and practical solutions.

• Carry out the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, in-house developed tools.
• Preparing conceptual designs with a view to ensuring safe, practical, and economic solutions in accordance with current standards.

Key requirements

• Relevant engineering degree
• Previous experience working on data centre and projects is desirable but not essential.
• Able to operate independently on a variety of projects.
• Strong attention to detail.
