Calling all experienced Flood Risk Consultants!

Here at Blueprint Recruitment, we are working with a leading Data-Analytics and Services Consultancy, who have an exciting new opportunity for a motivated Flood Risk Consultant to join them on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in assessing and managing flood risks for various projects, providing expertise in flood risk management, and working with clients and regulatory authorities. Our client is expertise in multiple sectors, including, Legal, Healthcare, Technology, Hospitality and Education.

Key Responsibilities:

· Conduct detailed flood risk assessments for development projects, considering current and future climate scenarios

· Evaluate potential flood impacts on infrastructure, communities, and the environment

Utilise hydraulic modeling software to simulate river and surface water flooding

· Analyse floodplain dynamics and identify flood extents

· Ensure compliance with local and national flood risk regulations and guidelines

· Liaise with regulatory authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals

· Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and present findings

· Provide expert advice on flood risk mitigation strategies

· Prepare clear and concise flood risk assessment reports

· Communicate complex technical information to a diverse audience

· Manage multiple flood risk assessment projects concurrently

· Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines

Key Requirements:

· Extensive experience working as a flood risk consultant

- A degree in a hydrology, physical geography or a flood risk related discipline 

· Proven experience as a Flood Risk Consultant, with a focus on flood risk assessments

· Experience supporting a wider team in assessing all sources of flooding,
ready to embrace complex problems.

· Sound understanding of hydrology estimation (e.g. FEH)

· Experience with modelling packages, including, Flood Modeller, TuFLOW, Microdrainage or similar.

· Experience producing Flood Risk assessments and surface water drainage strategies

· Ability to use software such as GIS, AutoCAD or Site3D.

· Sound understanding and interpretation of flood risk policy and legislation

· Excellent communication skills with a positive working attitude
