Recruitment Consultants have a busy, sometimes frenetic, daily schedule and their work is always varied. The primary role of a Recruitment Consultant is to work with Client companies and to build relationships with individuals involved in the hiring process in order to understand their vacancy requirements. This includes developing a good understanding of the Client’s company, their industry, what they do and their working culture. The role is very sales orientated and involves winning new business by differentiating from competitors through fresh, innovative thinking and a determination to impress.
Recruitment Consultants also match Candidates to Temporary/Contract or Permanent positions with Client companies. They interview Candidates by telephone or face-to-face, obtain references and provide advice to both Clients and Candidates.
The role involves a large amount of working towards targets, such as the revenue generated and the number of Candidates placed in contract or permanent roles. In order to be effective as a Recruitment Consultant at Blueprint, it is important to spend as much time as possible on the phone, whether on business development calls or arranging interviews and start dates for Candidates. You will also be involved in negotiating fees and pay rates and finalising the arrangements for the Candidate to start with the Client.

We have created the role of a Specialist Recruiter to ensure we give full attention to the relationships we build with both Clients and Candidates. Specialist Recruiters in our business are equally well qualified academically and have excellent customer service skills. They build long term relationships with Contractors and Permanent Candidates to ensure our teams deliver the highest levels of service with both urgency and accuracy.
