Our client, a well-established engineering consultancy, is offering one talented individual the opportunity to work within their organisation, on a contract basis. The chosen candidate will be working 3 days a week, on a hybrid basis, from their office in London. Enhance your impressive portfolio with a variety of Residential projects, stages 3-4, providing you with the opportunity to develop your ever-growing skills within a dynamic and supportive workforce and organisation.

-Competitive hourly rate ranging from £40-£55 (subject to experience).

-Hybrid working arrangements (3 days on-site).

Responsibilities:

-Develop detailed and accurate mechanical system designs, from concept through to design, with a focus on Residential projects, stages 3-4.

-Put together technical specifications, drawings, and equipment schedules by using CAD and BIM software tools.

-Create concise performance analyses and calculations, for all mechanical works, with the use of simulation and modelling tools when required.

-Conduct site visits, surveys, and commissioning processes, whilst also assisting throughout the implementation stages ensuring built systems align with the designs.

-Work alongside multidisciplinary teams allowing for a smooth integration of designs and models into project plans, ensuring efficiency, constructability, and transparency.

-Support the assessment of low-carbon and sustainable design opportunities, propose alternative design methods, and ensure that designs comply with key requirements.

Requirements:

-Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

-Profound experience as a Mechanical Engineer, or a similar role, with knowledge of mechanical systems within the built environment.

-Strong proficiency with mechanical design software tools, such as BIM, CAD, simulation and modelling tools.

-Solid acknowledgement of current building regulations, low-carbon efficiency strategies, and sustainability principles.

-Extensive analytical and mechanical calculation skills, with the ability to conduct performance assessments and produce high-quality documentation.

-Excellent communication skills, with ability to build and maintain rapport with project professionals and relevant bodies.
