Commercial Manager – NEC4 / Infrastructure Project (Contract)

Location: London / Peterborough (Hybrid – 2 Days per Week in Peterborough)

Rate: Up to £78 per hour (Inside IR35)

Hours: 40 hours per week

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager with strong NEC4 contract experience to support the delivery of a major water infrastructure project within a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy environment.

This role will involve managing commercial and contractual activities across a large infrastructure programme, ensuring contracts are administered effectively while maintaining strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.

The successful Commercial Manager will play a key role in overseeing contract administration, commercial performance and project delivery, supporting project teams while ensuring compliance with NEC4 contracts and Professional Services Contracts (PSC).

This position offers hybrid working, with 2 days per week in the Peterborough office and flexibility to work remotely.

Key Responsibilities

As a Commercial Manager, your responsibilities will include:

·         Managing commercial and contractual aspects of major infrastructure projects

·         Administering NEC4 contracts and Professional Services Contracts (PSC)

·         Supporting the delivery of water infrastructure and engineering consultancy projects

·         Maintaining strong client relationships and stakeholder communication

·         Providing commercial advice to project teams and senior management

·         Monitoring commercial performance, budgets and contract compliance

·         Supporting negotiations and resolving contractual or commercial issues

·         Coordinating with project teams to ensure commercial risks are managed effectively

·         Preparing commercial reports, forecasts and contract documentation

Requirements

To be considered for this Commercial Manager role, candidates should have:

·         Proven experience working as a Commercial Manager within infrastructure or engineering projects

·         Strong knowledge and experience of NEC4 contracts

·         Experience administering Professional Services Contracts (PSC)

·         Experience working within engineering consultancy or infrastructure delivery environments

·         Strong commercial and contract management skills

·         Experience managing client relationships and stakeholder engagement

·         Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving abilities

Experience within the water sector would be beneficial, although candidates with experience on major infrastructure projects across multiple sectors will also be considered.

Professional accreditation or membership within a relevant commercial or engineering body would be advantageous.
