Geotechnical Engineer – Site Investigation & Ground Engineering (Contract)

Location: London (3 Days per Week On-Site – Atlas Road)
Rate: £500–£575 per day (Outside IR35)
Job Type: Contract – 12 Months
Hours: 40 hours per week

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to support the delivery of a major infrastructure project in London, working on high-profile site investigation and ground engineering works.

This role will focus on reviewing and managing geotechnical field reports, supporting the delivery of technically complex projects across large-scale infrastructure packages. The successful Geotechnical Engineer will play a key role in ensuring ground investigation data, reporting and technical outputs meet project standards and requirements.

This position requires 3 days per week on-site in London (Atlas Road), with flexibility for remote working on the remaining days.


Key Responsibilities

As a Geotechnical Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing and assessing geotechnical field reports and site investigation data
  • Supporting the delivery of ground engineering and geotechnical design activities
  • Ensuring geotechnical outputs comply with project specifications and engineering standards
  • Liaising with site teams, engineers and project stakeholders
  • Providing technical input into geotechnical assessments and ground conditions
  • Supporting the coordination of site investigation and reporting activities
  • Identifying and managing geotechnical risks and technical issues
  • Contributing to the delivery of large infrastructure and civil engineering projects

 

Requirements

To be considered for this Geotechnical Engineer role, candidates should have:

  • Proven experience working as a Geotechnical Engineer within infrastructure or civil engineering projects
  • Strong experience in site investigation and geotechnical reporting
  • Experience reviewing ground investigation data and field reports
  • Knowledge of ground engineering principles and geotechnical design
  • Experience working on large infrastructure or major project environments
  • Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
  • Ability to work both independently and within multidisciplinary teams

Experience working on major UK infrastructure projects would be advantageous.


Contract Details

  • 12-month contract (with potential for extension)
  • Outside IR35
  • £500–£575 per day
  • 3 days per week on-site in London (Atlas Road)
  • 40 hours per week
