Senior Structural Engineer – Healthcare Projects (Contract)

Location: London (Hybrid – 3 Days per Week in Office)
Rate: Up to £50 per hour (Outside IR35)
Job Type: Contract – 3 to 6 Months
Start Date: ASAP

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join a specialist structural engineering team in London, supporting the delivery of confidential healthcare projects.

This role offers the chance to work on technically complex schemes involving steel frame structures and concrete cut-and-carve projects, contributing to the redevelopment and adaptation of existing buildings.

The successful Senior Structural Engineer will play a key role in structural design, technical delivery and project coordination, working within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

This is a hybrid role, requiring 3 days per week in the London office.


Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Structural Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing and reviewing structural calculations, drawings and technical reports
  • Designing and assessing steel frame and reinforced concrete structures
  • Supporting cut-and-carve and refurbishment projects
  • Using Masterseries for structural analysis and design
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams including architects and contractors
  • Ensuring designs comply with UK standards, regulations and best practice
  • Supporting delivery across multiple project stages
  • Contributing to technical problem-solving on complex structural challenges

Requirements

To be considered for this Senior Structural Engineer role, candidates should have:

  • Proven experience working as a Structural Engineer within building structures projects
  • Strong experience with steel frame and reinforced concrete design
  • Experience working on refurbishment or cut-and-carve projects
  • Proficiency in Masterseries or similar structural design software
  • Strong understanding of UK design standards and regulations
  • Experience working within a UK engineering consultancy environment
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills

Desirable:

  • Experience working on healthcare projects
  • Ability to work within confidential or secure project environments

Contract Details

  • 3–6 month contract
  • Outside IR35
  • Up to £50 per hour
  • Hybrid working – 3 days per week in London office
  • Hardware and IT equipment provided
