Civil 3D Technician – Infrastructure / Grading / Drainage (Contract)

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Civil 3D Technician to join a leading consultancy in London, supporting the delivery of complex infrastructure and land development projects.
This role offers the chance to work on a diverse portfolio including roads, drainage, utilities and mission-critical developments, with a strong focus on 3D modelling, grading and detailed design delivery.
The successful Civil 3D Technician will play a key role in technical drawing production, BIM coordination and design development, taking ownership of high-quality Civil 3D outputs across multiple projects.
Key Responsibilities
As a Civil 3D Technician, your responsibilities will include:
- Producing detailed civil engineering drawings and models using Autodesk Civil 3D
- Developing 3D models, digital terrain models, grading and earthworks calculations
- Designing infrastructure including roads, drainage, stormwater and utility networks
- Supporting site design and land development projects
- Producing plans, profiles and sections for civil engineering works
- Coordinating with engineers and multidisciplinary teams
- Leading drawing production, QA/QC and technical reviews
- Ensuring designs meet project specifications, regulatory standards and CAD standards
- Managing drawing files, revisions and project documentation
- Supporting problem-solving and technical design development
Requirements
To be considered for this Civil 3D Technician role, candidates should have:
- 7+ years’ experience as a Civil 3D Technician or CAD Technician
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D
- Strong experience in grading, earthworks and infrastructure design
- Experience working on land development, roads and drainage projects
- Strong understanding of stormwater management and utility design
- Experience in QA/QC and technical drawing review processes
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary engineering environment
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
Desirable:
- Experience with Navisworks, MicroStation, Revit or GIS software
- Experience working on mission-critical or large-scale infrastructure projects
Contract Details
- Initial 6-month contract (potential for extension)
- Outside IR35
- £35–£40 per hour
- Hybrid working in London
- 40 hours per week
