This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer with a background in clean water, wastewater or wider water sector projects who enjoys taking ownership of design packages, mentoring junior engineers and delivering technically robust solutions from concept through to detailed design.

You'll be working within a multidisciplinary engineering environment, supporting a varied portfolio of water infrastructure schemes while playing a key role in technical delivery, stakeholder engagement and design assurance.

The Role

You'll be involved in:

• Delivering civil engineering design packages for water infrastructure projects
• Producing technical reports, specifications and design documentation
• Carrying out hydraulic calculations and developing hydraulic profiles
• Supporting design development from feasibility through to detailed design
• Undertaking site visits and identifying practical engineering solutions
• Preparing design risk assessments and technical reviews
• Presenting designs at HAZOP, ALM, KM and other technical review meetings
• Managing design changes and ensuring compliance with project procedures
• Supporting and mentoring CAD Technicians, Graduates and Junior Engineers

What They're Looking For

• Significant experience within the regulated water industry
• Strong civil engineering design capability
• Experience carrying out hydraulic calculations and hydraulic modelling
• Ability to develop and deliver technically compliant design solutions
• Experience producing technical reports and engineering specifications
• Strong stakeholder management and presentation skills
• Ability to lead design packages independently

Ideally:

• 10+ years' relevant water sector experience
• Degree, HND or equivalent engineering qualification
• Membership of a relevant professional institution
• Working towards or already achieved Chartership

Experience across:

• Clean water treatment
• Wastewater treatment
• Water networks
• Pumping stations
• Water infrastructure projects
