Our client is a major
company in the UK Water Sector who are looking for an mechanical and electrical
technician to join them on a permanent basis in Oxfordshire. This role
will be a part of an industry-leading engineering team that can achieve the
company’s ambitions for AMP7. This is an

The selected candidate
will ensure that all equipment on the sewage treatment works is running safely
and efficiently. In addition to this, you will maintain, fault diagnose, test,
install modify or
repair electrical and mechanical plant equipment.
Role:
- Carry out scheduled
planned maintenance work on mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Investigate plant
failures and carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Provide technical
advice and training.
- Examples of equipment
that you will be working on will be various pumps and associated control
gear, 3 phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems
such as VSD’s, automatic valves and penstocks, flow, level and pressure
measurement, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and
controls, chemical handling and dosing equipment
- Participate in a
stand-by rota following the relevant training
To be successful you will have the following skills
and experience:
- ONC/HNC in
engineering, NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering with an
upskill qualification in mechanical NVQ2/3 is crucial.
- Ideally, you will
have been upskilled with a mechanical qualification to allow inspecting,
maintaining, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair mechanical
and electrical plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Knowledge and
awareness of health and safety issues.
- Participation in a
24/7 out of hours’ standby rota will be required after a suitable period
of training and assessment.
- A valid driving
licence is essential and all necessary equipment such as vehicle and tools
are provided.
