Our client is a specialist contractor within the UK Water Sector who combine repair, maintenance and civil engineering expertise to deliver solutions for refurbishments within the UK Water Sector. They are looking for a Fabrication Manager to join them on a permanent basis.

The selected candidate will report to the Regional Delivery Manager and be responsible for surveying and assisting the commercial team in pricing projects from first principles. You will undertake structural steelwork assessments up to 100k in value, and be able to design and plan out components and structures on Auto Cad or similar.



  • Carry out thorough financial negotiations as required in order to secure client contracts.

  • Form relationships with our clients to identify their precise requirements and ensure that pricing schedules allow for the delivery of projects that accurately meet their expectations.

  • Undertake site visits in order to understand the full scope of the works, assisting the commercial team in pricing from first principles.

  • Work with the commercial and project delivery teams to formulate a realistic budget for schemes in order to maximise revenue, profit and reputation.

  • Be involved in the planning process to ensure that all works are carried out to the maximum efficiency.

  • Undertake steel work assessments up to £100k including but not limited to; Access Manways, Brackets and Pipe Supports, Stairway Structures, Gantry Supports, Steel Decks and Walkways, Hand Railing.

  • Design and plan out components and structures on Auto Cad or similar.
  • Develop and grow a team to deliver the works required.

  • Attend monthly performance meetings and complete reports for both the clients and the company including information on Project Performance (Site and Commercial), Health & Safety, Environmental and KPI’s.

Skills and Experience


  • Previous experience in a manufacturing / fabrication management.
  • Proven experience with site based installations.
  • Demonstrable experience in project management.
  • Experience of working under pressure in a close-knit team to deliver joint objectives.

  • Excellent communication skills to liaise on a daily basis with other team members, clients and suppliers.

  • A positive can-do attitude to client and colleague, even when working under pressure.

  • Demonstrable ability to work alone and use own initiative to solve problems and complete daily tasks.

  • Ability to work flexibly in line with business requirements.

  • Possess strong IT skills, in particular MS Excel.

  • Full driving licence.



  • Experience in the water industry, ideally clean water.

  • Civils or Waterproofing/Concrete Repair Background.

  • Auto Cad or similar Design software experience
