As the selected Project Manager, your roles will include:

  • Ensuring quality and specifications of the project brief are being met

  • Maintenance, infrastructure and Renewal of buildings and stations

  • Advising the team on project planning and initiatives

  • Managing internal and external design teams and contractors

  • Agreeing contracting strategies and producing investment reports

  • Managing scope, costs, finance, quality and programmes

  • Acting as PD under CDM2015

  • Managing stakeholders

  • Ensuring all necessary parties are kept updated on progress

  • Working with other teams to ensure designs and documentation are kept within deadlines

  • Leading and reviewing project budgets to ensure they remain on target

  • Acting as a key interface for clients whilst building long-term relationships

  • Ensuring high levels of performance are consistently achieved in all areas

  • Managing the multidisciplinary design team

  • Review and approve project management and health and safety plans

Essential skills, experience and attributes:

  • Degree qualified in a relevant subject or extensive project experience

  • Experience working on complex rail and infrastructure projects for consultancies and contractors

  • Proven experience managing multi-million pound projects

  • Specific experience in the Rail sector

  • Ability to manage a variety of projects with minimal supervision

  • Knowledge relevant software, including Primavera P6, ProjectWise, CAD and Microsoft applications

  • Strong understanding of current safety legislation and procedures, including CDM

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of current UK building regulations and legislation
