Our client is a major company in the UK Water Sector. They currently have a vacancy for a Performance Strategy Manager to join them in the Berkshire Region. The selected candidate will assist in the development of an area of the water system strategy from catchment to customer tap. You will be responsible for identifying the long-term risks and opportunities, and setting out the delivery plans, accounting for future changes and the performance required by our customers, regulators, and stakeholders.

The successful candidate maintain an ‘expert’ capability of water systems by keeping abreast of industry developments is critical to ensure we continuously improve and stretch our business capabilities. 

You will identify future key areas of development that require a step change in activity and innovation to address and develop long term plans for resolution, such as resilience of our water resource to drought and management of our treatment works capability. 

 

Remuneration Package:

  • Salary of up to £60,000 p.a.

  • Family Healthcare.

  • 26 days holiday.

  • Up-to 18% Pension Contributions (of which 12% is Employer Contribution).

 

Role/Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of the documentation required for PR24 (Ofwat’s 5 yearly Price Review).
  • Own the development of an area of our water system strategy, working with others to identify key risks, issues and opportunities that will impact on the delivery of our service to customers from today into the longer term.
  • Develop industry leading, best practice approaches to resolve/mitigate key areas of development that take account of future uncertainty.
  • Assist in development of the resilience of systems to future demand.
  • Own the production of company-wide strategic delivery plans.
  • Technically assist in the development of regional planning to meet company and regional expectations and align to regulatory guidance.
  • Carry out regular reviews to ensure the strategic delivery plans are fit for purpose and manage any changes through required governance.
  • Assist in the production and leadership of regulatory and statutory returns including price reviews, annual returns, and water resources management planning.
  • Identify new technologies or approaches that will help us to deliver our long-term goals.
  • Sponsor the development of systems, decision support tools and models (risk, performance, deterioration, resilience, and costs) that are needed to support and develop our strategic system planning.
  • Develop relationships and opportunities through working with Digital and Data factory to fast-track and systemise analysis with proven business benefits.
  • Support the wider Asset Management community in identifying skill and capability gaps, working collaboratively to continuously improve and develop training plans.

Skills/Experience:

  • Degree Qualified with further professional/management qualifications.
  • Previous experience in the utility industry.
  • Water Industry Experience (preferred).
  • Knowledge of delivering change/performance management strategies.
  • Working knowledge of Asset Management/Operations.
  • Excellent management skills across multi-disciplined teams. 
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Stakeholder engagement and relationship management.
  • Self-starting, resilient and tenacious under pressure.
