We have an excellent opportunity for a Commercial Administrator to join a specialist contractor to the Construction Industry on a Contractual basis with a view to go permanent.

You will have ideally come from a construction or engineering background and will understand how to use and navigate around accounting systems.


The role will cover the following:  

  • Process weekly timesheets for submission of earnings information to the Payroll Administrator (Finance Team).

  • Produce job cost budget for all jobs over £30k.

  • Compile project handover pack and issue to Project Manager in advance of handover meeting.

  • Attend project handover meetings and take minutes.

  • Upload relevant commercial documents to the Portal and assist in document control and filing structure.

  • Setup CVR template for each new job.

  • Assist with cost management and analysis of project performance as directed by the Commercial Manager or Quantity Surveyors.

  • Assist with the month end management accounts as directed by the Commercial Manager or Quantity Surveyors.

  • Maintain detailed records of Client Purchase Orders, applications for payment and invoices (Commercial Tracker).

  • Raise and submit sales invoices.

  • Co-ordinate sales ledger queries (e.g. aged invoices).


    The candidate should:

  • Have strong IT skills especially MS Word and Excel.

  • Able to work alone and using own initiative to solve problems and complete daily tasks

  • A good communicator, able to deal confidently with a variety of people face-to- face, in writing and on the telephone

  • Display a positive attitude and be committed to going above and beyond when necessary.

  • Able to work flexibly in line with business requirements.

  • Proven planning and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise workloads
