Our client is a major company in the UK Water Sector who are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join their Capital Delivery Team. This is a key role responsible for leading a project team to deliver non-infrastructure engineering projects up to £100million in value.

The selected candidate will build and lead a multi-disciplined team and be responsible for project delivery to time, cost and quality. This is an exciting and challenging role for an experienced Project Manager to drive projects forward and support our client’s ambitions for AMP7.

Role/ Responsibilities:

  • Lead and take full project accountability throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Develop project briefs, including supplementary information for the procurement phase of the project.

  • Development and definition of the tender package(s), including the definition of the scope of works to support the Procurement team through each stage of the tender process ensuring the demanding timescales are met.

  • Work closely and collaboratively with technical, commercial teams and all project stakeholders to ensure that project timescales and objectives are met.

  • Own the management of risk, issues and change in a fully transparent manner through effective reporting and escalation and early mitigation of risk.

  • Work collaboratively with the communications team to define a communications plan for the project.

  • Effective liaison and interface with relevant town planning authorities as well as all key internal and external stakeholders.

  • Drive project-wide continuous improvement and delivering against stretching targets.

  • Influence key internal and external stakeholders at a senior level.


  • Engineering Degree.

  • Chartered Status.

  • Water Industry and business knowledge and experience delivering major non-infrastructure projects up to a value of £100million.

  • Track record of managing capital projects, being  confident in demonstrating capability with risk-based and analytical decision making.

  • Experience in delivering projects through full planning and environmental impact assessment is strongly desirable.

  • Excellent leadership skills across multi-disciplined teams as well as excellent communication skills, in particular presentation of the business case and project strategies.


  • Salary of up to £60,000 p.a.
