Our client, a leading consultancy, is offering a skilled and experienced Principal Technician a permanent position within their forward-thinking organisation. The chosen professional will be operating on a hybrid basis, working three days a week from our client’s main office near Portsmouth. Responsibilities:
-Oversee the development of detailed drawings, calculations, documentation, and project specifications across a variety of civil engineering projects.
-Manage project delivery across a variety of professional teams, ensuring regulations, design standards, and client requirements are being followed and maintained.
-Conduct site visits, reviews, and inspections, ensuring that all project works comply with design intent, whilst monitoring and updating risk and design assessments.
-Ensure accurate and efficient project delivery by coordinating and working with other technicians, engineers, planners, and other multidisciplinary project parties.
-Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, nurturing progression, development, and performance quality assurance.
Requirements:
-Extensive demonstratable experience as a Principal Technician, or a similar position, delivering and overseeing a variety of projects, across a range sectors.
-Proficient in the use of relevant design software tools, such as AutoCAD, Microdrainage, Civil3D, and Site3D.
-Significant understanding of civil engineering design standards, and key industry principles, regulations, legislation, and codes.
-Strong understanding of design, detailing, specification development, and drawing production, with an ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.
-Effective communication, organisational, and leadership skills, with a maintained proactive problem-solving mindset, and a drive for business development and growth.
