Blueprint Recruitment are currently recruiting for an Engineering Lead to work on a large UK based defence project. This exciting role will offer long term work on very competitive market rates!

This position will be working with a large client of ours who operate on a hybrid basis, covering projects across the whole of the UK. They are industry leaders across offering engineering solutions within the Nuclear and Defence sectors.

The primary purpose of this role will include technically managing a team of engineers to ensure safety reports and design work is completed to industry standards and procedures. This position will require existing working knowledge of licensed Nuclear sites and related facilities. 

The selected engineer must be able to

• Demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills required in the technical management of complex design development throughout the design lifecycle. 
• Sound understanding of engineering design and safety practice as relevant to discipline, post and project requirements.
• Sound project specification & planning experience.
• Sound understanding of Company and departmental procedures relating to Design, Health & Safety and Quality requirements, and ability to manage projects in accordance with these procedures.
• Working knowledge of relevant engineering office computer applications.
• Experience of the design support to construction, operation, refit/repair of conventional and nuclear submarines and/or facilities.

This role will be an intitial 12 month contract, with scope for work over a number of years! 

The chosen engineer must be eligible for security clearances.
