Blueprint Recruitment has a brilliant new opportunity for an experienced Lead Piping Designer to join a reputable Engineering Consultancy, on a contract basis, outside IR35.

This position is based in Birmingham and requires the successful candidate to play a key role in providing technical expertise and ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.

Our client has seen an increase in the demand for their Architecture, Engineering and Sustainability services in a wide range of sectors, including, Pharmaceutical, Energy, Infrastructure and Data Centres.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead the piping design team in the development of piping layouts, isometric drawings, and material specifications

· Assign tasks, set priorities, and monitor progress

· Review and approve design deliverables, ensuring compliance with project specifications

· Collaborate with other Engineering disciplines to integrate piping systems into overall project designs

· Monitor project budgets related to piping design activities

· Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding piping design issues

· Identify potential risks and challenges related to piping design activities to develop mitigation strategies

· Prepare and maintain accurate documentation of piping design activities, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports

Key Requirements:

· A degree in Engineering or a related field

· Extensive experience in piping design

· Proficiency in piping design software such as AutoCAD Plant 3D and CADWorx,

· Strong knowledge of piping codes and standards

· Excellent leadership and communication skills

· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

· Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

· Keeping updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in piping design
