Blueprint Recruitment are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join  a leading engineering consultancy on a long-term contract basis in Manchester. This role is ideal for professionals looking to contribute their expertise to complex and high-profile developments. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in healthcare projects, the ability to take ownership of designs, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. This is a hybrid position that requires the selected candidates to attend the office 3 times per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the mechanical design process for stage 3 healthcare projects, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and client specifications.
  • Develop detailed mechanical designs, including HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems, using relevant software.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical engineers, architects, and contractors, to deliver efficient and effective solutions.
  • Conduct site visits and liaise with stakeholders to ensure designs align with project needs.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers where required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working on healthcare projects at Stage 3.
  • Proficiency in mechanical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant calculation tools.
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, CIBSE guidelines, and healthcare-specific standards (HTMs and HBNs).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
