Attention all Principal Structural Engineers!

Blueprint Recruitment are working alongside a leading structural and civil engineering company, who are on the lookout for a Principal Structural Engineer to join their growing team. This fantastic position is located in Hertfrodshire, and provides an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of projects across the residential, commercial and industrial sectors. If selected, you will be required to operate on a hybrid basis, attending the office 3 days per week.

Our client is a specialist in structural and civil engineering, offering tailored design solutions for a wide range of projects. They work across sectors including residential, commercial, education, and healthcare, providing expertise from initial concept through to project completion. Known for their client-focused approach, they prioritise collaboration and efficient project delivery. With a strong emphasis on sustainability and innovative practices, they aim to meet the evolving needs of the built environment, ensuring both practical and cost-effective solutions for their clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with clients and design teams
  • Lead projects or parts of projects to completion
  • Ensure the provision of efficient, high-quality Structural Engineering designs
  • Develop scopes of work and delivery programmes
  • Offer support and guidance to more junior members
  • Carry out structural surveys
  • Lead client and project meetings

Key Requirements:

  • Extensive experience working as a Structural Engineer
  • A degree in Engineering or similar field
  • Experience in the design of building structures to British Standards and Eurocodes
  • Proven experience in developing projects from concept to construction
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Prior experience in actively managing clients
  • Ability to manage and work to budget and program
  • Experience in successfully leading the Structural Engineering delivery of projects
  • Good technical structures knowledge in steel, concrete and masonry design
  • Able to inspect works carried out on-site
