Attention all motivated Quantity Surveyors! Blueprint Recruitment have an excellent opportunity for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join a leading engineering consultancy on a long-term contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing both pre- and post-contract commercial aspects of high-profile projects, balancing risk and opportunity to achieve optimal financial outcomes. This hybrid role offers flexibility, with a requirement to attend various UK locations as needed, enabling collaboration with teams across multiple offices and project sites. Responsibilities: Oversee both pre- and post-contract commercial management, balancing risk, opportunity, and financial returns. Lead project delivery to meet revenue, cash flow, and EBIT targets while supporting business growth in the market. Prepare, negotiate, and provide commercial oversight of contract documentation. Drive the production of monthly Project Status Reports (PSR), Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR), and Earned Value Management (EVM) reports. Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximise project revenue and cash flow. Manage change control processes, contract management, and claims/disputes, ensuring best practices are followed. Provide guidance on commercial risks and opportunities related to project schedules and contract programmes. Mentor and manage junior commercial team members, promoting engagement across offices and project sites. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures while upholding safety standards and company values. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet project and business deadlines. Requirements: Proven experience in quantity surveying or commercial management within construction, infrastructure, or engineering sectors. Strong understanding of contract documentation, change control, and claims processes. Proficiency in financial reporting tools such as PSR, CVR, and EVM. Ability to identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities effectively. Excellent leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills. Familiarity with interpreting project schedules and contract programmes. This role offers the chance to work on industry-leading projects across the Rail, Highway, and Water sectors, contributing to a wide range of innovative design and build initiatives. As a Highways Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering technical and commercial excellence on highways engineering design projects. From hands-on design work to client liaison and fee management, this is a position where your expertise will shine. The successful candidate will be joining a renowned design and build contractor, known for delivering complex infrastructure projects such as hospitals, bridges, roads, and office buildings. Their expertise spans civil engineering, building construction, and commercial property development. Requirements You’ll take charge of: Developing designs, drawings, specifications, and technical reports to achieve project outcomes. Conducting site visits, surveys, and investigations to gather critical data. Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation. Keeping up-to-date with Standards & Codes of Practice while participating in Continuous Professional Development. Planning and managing project delivery to meet agreed timelines and costs. Collaborating with customers to understand their goals and develop excellent working relationships. Requirements To succeed in this role, you will need: A degree in Civil Engineering, Highway, Transportation, or a similar discipline (BSc, BEng, or MEng). Chartered Engineer status (ICE or CIHT). Expertise in highway design and construction, particularly in drainage, pavement, and alignment. In-depth knowledge of Highways England standards such as the DMRB and MCHW. Experience working on S38 and S278 projects. Proficiency in design software such as Civils 3D, AutoCAD, Micro Drainage, and Key Lines/Key Signs.
