As a hybrid role, you will be required to attend the head office 2-3 days per week to work on a variety of exciting substation projects. The successful candidate will possessive extensive experience in transmission projects, ideally with experience in substation project management, including overseeing various aspects of planning, execution, and stakeholder coordination. Oversee all aspects of execution for EPC Transmission projects, coordinating with engineering and procurement teams, and handling value engineering and construction management. Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring client satisfaction and maintaining strong relationships. Take accountability for project profit and loss, working with project controls and commercial teams to manage costs, schedules, and scope. Prepare project execution plans, ensure risk review compliance, and regularly report on progress, cost, safety, and project challenges. Work closely with senior managers, provide mentorship, support recruitment efforts, and help develop a high-performing project management team. Allocate resources effectively, and build industry connections to enhance future project opportunities and brand recognition. Manage multiple projects with varying deadlines, adapting to the needs of a rapidly growing business. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in engineering (or equivalent experience). As a Senior Planner, you will lead the evaluation of the project timeline, correlate cost and risk assessments, and provide guidance to the supply chain to articulate requirements for planning. Located predominantly in our client’s Birmingham office, this role requires travel 3 days per week, gradually reducing down to 1-2 days. Key responsibilities · Lead and undertake assignments in the UK and internationally. · Hands-on geotechnical design engineer capable to work fully independently and as part of a team. · Act as assignment manager, producing and overseeing technical delivery, commercial aspects, financial controls (forecasting & budgeting), planning, resourcing and troubleshooting. · Assist and support a high level of technical capability within the skill area as may be required to deliver the service offerings targeted. · Assist with the organisation and management of the technical staff, acting as a line manager as required, mentoring fellow engineers, supporting staff recruitment, training, CPD and implementation of ‘Best Practice’ and procedures.
