Calling all Mechanical Design Engineers! Blueprint Recruitment has a fantastic opportunity for a driven Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading turnkey Engineering Contractor, on a permanent basis in Blackburn. This position is offering the successful Mechanical Design Engineer the opportunity to join an experienced Engineering team and play a crucial role in the design, implementation and maintenance of various Mechanical Systems for a range of projects. Key Responsibilities: · A ‘hands on’ approach to meet quality standards and deadlines · Undertake duties such as, resource forecasting, project reviews, chair meetings and appraisals · Lead multi-disciplinary design & coordination reviews · Awareness of other disciplines including Electrical, Structural and Architectural · Ensure compliance with CDM requirements · Conduct Risk Assessments and DSEAR assessments · Design systems in the form of calculations, equipment selection and detailed drawings · Work closely with clients to develop relationships and identify opportunities · Complete site inspection reports · Develop commissioning plans and oversee commissioning activities Key Requirements: · A degree in Engineering · Fluency with BIM · Chartered Engineer status or working towards · Experience leading and mentoring design risk reviews · Effective communication skills · Familiarity with current Building Regulations · Knowledge in Biomass, gasification, geothermal and other renewable technologies · Ability to use AUTOCAD 2D · Fluent with the RIBA Plan of Work and relevant design standards and stages · Good knowledge of forms of contract used within the construction industry · Strong understanding of general HVAC / building services Engineering Benefits: · Contributory Pension · Life Assurance · Generous annual leave · Ability to buy/sell leave · Family friendly leave · Tax-free Childcare · Season Ticket Annual Travel Loans · Flexible Working · On site gym (Blackburn) and discounted gym memberships For further information on this opportunity, please contact Lauren Marsden on 02392 603030 or email lauren.marsden@blueprintrecruit.com Alternatively, please apply directly using the “Apply” option below.
