BIM TECHNICIAN

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced BIM Technician to join a growing Building Services consultancy delivering technically complex engineering projects across the defence, education, nuclear and infrastructure sectors. This BIM Technician role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of BIM delivery during the later design stages, producing high-quality coordinated Revit MEP models and working closely with engineers to deliver technically demanding projects. The successful BIM Technician will support the delivery of multidisciplinary MEP projects, playing a key role throughout the detailed design process while helping to drive BIM quality and coordination across a diverse portfolio of work. The Role As a BIM Technician, you'll be responsible for: Producing coordinated Revit MEP models across a range of Building Services projects Delivering BIM packages through RIBA Stage 4, with particular focus on Stages 4A, 4B and 4C Developing detailed construction models and technical drawings Coordinating mechanical, electrical and public health services within multidisciplinary project teams Resolving design clashes and supporting BIM coordination meetings Working closely with engineers to develop practical, buildable design solutions Reviewing and maintaining BIM standards throughout project delivery Supporting projects from detailed design through to construction This BIM Technician position offers the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within highly regulated sectors while remaining hands-on with digital project delivery. What We're Looking For We're looking for a technically capable BIM Technician who enjoys working collaboratively and takes pride in delivering high-quality BIM solutions. Ideally, you'll have: Previous experience as a BIM Technician, Revit MEP Technician or BIM Coordinator Strong Revit MEP experience within a Building Services environment Proven experience delivering projects through RIBA Stages 4A, 4B and 4C Excellent understanding of BIM coordination and multidisciplinary project delivery Strong communication and problem-solving skills A proactive approach and the confidence to work independently on project deliverables Experience working on defence, nuclear, education or other technically complex Building Services projects would be advantageous but isn't essential. Our client, a leading drainage and environmental consultancy, have a new permanent position on offer, for a talented Senior Hydraulic Modeller to join their organisation. This position requires you to work on a flexible hybrid basis, from their main office in Exeter, working three days on-site and 2 days from home. This unmissable opportunity will give one fortunate individual the chance to expand their expertise within a variety of Water and Water Treatment projects. -Competitive salary ranging between £40,000-£60,000 (subject to experience). -Company pension scheme, flexible working arrangements, generous annual leave, and ongoing career development opportunities. Responsibilities: -Develop and maintain detailed 1D and 2D hydraulic models, for a variety of Water and Water Treatment projects, ensuring high quality and efficiency. -Oversee a team of professionals through survey planning, hydraulic modelling development and assessment, plan development, and solution modelling. -Conduct and oversee on-site inspections and surveys, to provide data input for modelling processes, whilst maintaining accurate documentation on the data found. -Guide and oversee the works of junior project teams, providing constructive feedback to nurture their professional development, as well as the project’s progression. -Build and maintain rapport with clients, stakeholders, and other project teams, to ensure project specifications are being met. Requirements: -Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, within a discipline related to Hydraulic Modelling. -Must be a member of an appropriate relevant professional body. -6+ years of experience as a Hydraulic Modeller, ideally working on projects within the Water and Wastewater treatment field. -Strong technical background with an understanding of ICM and/or Infoworks within both 1D and 2D software systems. -Effective communication and project management skills, with the ability to build and maintain rapport with professional or relent project bodies.
