Blueprint Recruitment have a fantastic new opportunity for a motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join a global energy company on a long-term contract basis in Hampshire. This position provides a great opportunity to work on a variety of exciting education projects. The successful candidate will be expected to operate on a hybrid basis, attending the office 2-3 days per week. This lead role will require a focus on both design aspects and mentoring junior engineers. Key responsibilities Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems - power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection etc. Undertakes a client facing role in the development and design and coordination of engineering project services for Mechanical installations, systems, equipment, facilities. Managing own workload, updating forward plan of workload regularly and working to time allocations. Carry out the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, in-house developed tools. Checking the design work of fellow team members and external designers in accordance with departmental procedures. Preparing conceptual designs with a view to ensuring safe, practical, and economic solutions in accordance with current standards. Key requirements Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related subjects. Experience of working in a design consultancy and/or some experience of working within a contractor design environment is beneficial. Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools including Amtech/Prodesign, Dialux/Relux, NBS and Microsoft packages. Any HV tools will also be beneficial. This position provides the ability to work on a variety of exciting residential and commercial projects. Operating on a hybrid basis, the selected candidate will be expected to attend the office up to 4 times per week. The ideal candidate will posses knowledge of Causeway Flow and also infodrainage. Our client is a multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy specialising in transport, highways, flood risk assessments, and infrastructure planning. They offer independent design support to the development industry, providing services such as detailed highways and infrastructure design advice. With a proven track record, they assist clients throughout the planning process, ensuring projects meet regulatory standards and are delivered efficiently. Key responsibilities: Manage a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels. Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals. Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes. Collaborate with architects, surveyors, and project managers to ensure designs meet project requirements and regulations. Perform calculations to ensure building stability and compliance with safety standards. Design foundations, retaining walls, drainage systems, and structural frameworks. Adhere to quality assurance standards in design. Key requirements Chartered Civil Engineer. Experience working commercial and residential projects Experience in design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
