This is an excellent opportunity to take the lead on oversee a high-profile substation project within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of substation projects and a proactive approach to site management. Attention to detail, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to drive project success are key. Our client is a leading contractor delivering complex projects across the Power and Civil/Structural sectors. With a focus on high-quality project delivery and safety, they provide a collaborative and professional work environment. Responsibilities: Manage on-site civil works for substation projects, ensuring work is completed to the highest standard. Oversee site operations, ensuring health and safety compliance at all times. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, and project stakeholders. Requirements: Proven experience as a Civil Site Manager in the Power and sector. Strong background in substation projects. NG Persons, SMSTS, EUSR Power, and TP137 certifications required. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Blueprint Recruitment are seeking a skilled and qualified Competent Person to support a leading contractor on an exciting substation project. This is a hands-on, site-based role within the power and civils sector, requiring expertise in National Grid safety procedures and plant operation. If you hold the necessary qualifications and thrive in a fast-paced, high-compliance environment, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a key infrastructure project. Our client is a respected contractor in the power and civil engineering sectors, delivering complex infrastructure projects across the UK. Their expertise spans substations, utilities, and large-scale construction, with a strong focus on safety, quality, and operational excellence. Responsibilities: Ensure site safety and compliance with National Grid standards. Assist in the delivery of substation projects, supporting civil and electrical teams. Operate site machinery, including telehandlers or diggers, if ticketed. Work collaboratively with engineers and site managers to maintain project efficiency. Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations. Requirements: NG Persons certification (essential). NSI 6 & NSI 8 qualifications (required). Telehandler or digger ticket (required). Experience in power and civils projects within substations. Strong awareness of site safety and risk management.
