Our client is looking for a highly experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will work in a fully remote role, and will be required to attend the Plymouth site every 6-8 weeks. Our client is a leading engineering company, that specialises in global defence, security, and aerospace sectors. Key Responsibilities: -Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, ensuring safety and technical compliance. -Work with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones on time and within budget. -Develop and maintain engineering specifications and documentation. -Conduct engineering analysis and testing to validate designs and performance. -Engage with clients and stakeholders to provide technical support. -Support the lifecycle management of engineering systems, from conception through to decommissioning. Key Requirements: -BEng/BSc in mechanical engineering or similar degree. -Extensive experience of designing a mechanical services / process systems. -Experience of working in a highly regulated industry, strong preference to nuclear. -Understanding of hydraulic / pressure calculations. -Understanding of hazard identification and analysis associated with process systems (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP etc) -Experience checking design documentation. -Strong line management experience of direct reports. -CEng or working towards, is preferred!For further information on this opportunity, please contact Max Williams on 02392 603030 or email max.williams@blueprintrecruit.com Alternatively, please apply directly using the “Apply” option below.
