An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading engineering organisation delivering complex defence and naval infrastructure projects. This Mechanical Design Engineer role is ideal for someone who enjoys designing technically challenging mechanical systems while contributing to nationally significant defence programmes. You'll work as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, supporting projects from concept through to detailed design across major infrastructure and marine facilities. The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will play a key role in delivering innovative engineering solutions within a highly regulated environment, supporting some of the UK's most important defence projects. The Role As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you'll be responsible for: Producing mechanical building services and engineering designs for defence infrastructure projects Developing mechanical calculations, specifications and technical reports Supporting projects through concept, detailed design and delivery phases Coordinating designs with multidisciplinary engineering teams Producing high-quality technical documentation in line with project requirements Site attendance once or twice a month is required. What We're Looking For We're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience delivering complex engineering projects. This role is ideal for someone with a background in civil, structural or heavy infrastructure engineering who enjoys being on-site, overseeing installation and commissioning activities, reviewing technical information and ensuring works are delivered safely and in accordance with design requirements. Working within a high-consequence environment, you'll act as the link between design and construction teams, supporting quality, compliance and technical assurance throughout project delivery.
