Key responsibilities To work directly with the Creative Director of the Design Studio in a collaborative Computational Design Unit To perform computational design and advanced 3D modelling with complex geometries To perform material and building system research and participate in the co-ordination and preparation of project specifications. Key Requirements Talented, ambitious, and committed individual with an interest in working with a highly creative and free-thinking team Relevant degree or professional qualification in Architecture and Computational Design. A clear work history and/or portfolio of professional development and learning. Experience in designing complex and iconic design projects. Keeping up-to-date with Standards & Codes of Practice while participating in Continuous Professional Development. Planning and managing project delivery to meet agreed timelines and costs. Requirements To succeed in this role, you will need: A degree in Civil Engineering, Highway, Transportation, or a similar discipline (BSc, BEng, or MEng). Chartered Engineer status (ICE or CIHT). Expertise in highway design and construction, particularly in drainage, pavement, and alignment. In-depth knowledge of Highways England standards such as the DMRB and MCHW. Experience working on S38 and S278 projects. Proficiency in design software such as Civils 3D, AutoCAD, Micro Drainage, and Key Lines/Key Signs. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities and a deep technical background in data centre design. This role offers a unique chance to drive technical excellence and lead a team of talented engineers, supporting the delivery of high-stakes projects for major clients across the data centre sector. Key responsibilities Set the standard for technical quality and innovation, guiding the team through complex design challenges specific to data centres. Undertakes a client facing role in the development and design and coordination of engineering project services for electrical installations, systems, equipment, facilities. Managing own workload, updating forward plan of workload regularly and working to time allocations. Carry out the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including Excel, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, in-house developed tools. Checking the design work of fellow team members and external designers in accordance with departmental procedures. Preparing conceptual designs with a view to ensuring safe, practical, and economic solutions in accordance with current standards. Key requirements ETAP proficiency Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering or related subjects. Team management abilities Strong technical background Experience of working in a design consultancy and/or some experience of working within a contractor design environment is beneficial. Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools including Amtech/Prodesign, Dialux/Relux, NBS and Microsoft packages. Any HV tools will also be beneficial. Awareness of the principles of building physics such as passive design solutions and fabric first approaches.
