Blueprint Recruitment have a fantastic new opportunity for a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a leading design company on a long-term contract basis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in defence, nuclear, life sciences, or manufacturing sectors, and must be eligible for SC clearance. The role offers hybrid working from either our client’s Manchester, Birmingham, or London offices, with remote working available. Occasional site visits and office team meetings will be required.

Our client is a comprehensive design, engineering, and project delivery company with a focus on intricate infrastructure, process, and built environments throughout the entire project life cycle. Their expertise spans diverse disciplines, encompassing initial architecture, civil and structural engineering, and building services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead mechanical engineering activities ensuring all designs, installations, and systems meet project specifications and industry standards.
  • Perform detailed mechanical assessments, system designs, and oversee the implementation of engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, safety, and quality teams, to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections, ensuring that all mechanical work complies with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, contributing to overall project success.

Key Requirements:

  • Security Clearance (SC): The candidate must be willing and able to obtain SC clearance.
  • Extensive experience in defence, nuclear, life sciences, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Strong mechanical engineering background, with proficiency in system design, installation, and project management.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexibility to work in a hybrid capacity, with occasional site visits and in-office meetings.
