Blueprint Recruitment have a fantastic new opportunity for a motivated Senior Power Systems Engineer to join a global engineering consultancy on a long-term contract basis in London. Working on a variety of brilliant Data Centre projects, this position requires the successful candidate to work on a predominantly remote basis, attending the office once per week. As part of our client’s Central Engineering Power Systems Team, you will be supporting the Power Systems Modelling Manager who is responsible for the delivery of the electrical power systems modelling service for our client globally.

Key responsibilities:

  • Participate in the day-to-day delivery of the Electrical Modelling Service
  • Contribute to the quality of delivery and technical rigour of analysis from the Electrical Modelling simulation.
  • Undertake technical reviews within the Electrical Modelling team and undertake quality checks of the work produced.
  • Support team strategy that electrical modelling and reporting meets the necessary industrial and legal standards.
  • Support with the training of new team members to meet the existing and any new service offerings within the Electrical Modelling domain.
  • Day to day decision making on project progress and direct liaison with project delivery teams.
  • Participate in knowledge collation and development of calculation methods, best practices.
  • Support the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of our client’s Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial Management, QA/QC and technical review perspective.

Key requirements

  • Degree in appropriate engineering discipline that included power systems engineering or have sufficient equivalent experience.
  • Chartered Eng status.
  • Knowledge of Data Centres.
  • Experienced user of ETAP software as well as other similar electrical Power engineering packages such as SKM PTW and DigiSilent.
  • Good client service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to plan and make judgements to accomplish goals and objectives.
  • Background in consulting or construction preferred.
