Blueprint recruitment is looking to speak with an experienced Structural Technician to work alongside a global multidisciplinary Engineering practice, on a permanent basis. The Successful Structural Technician will be responsible for providing technical support in the preparation and coordination of Structural Engineering drawings and documents. You will be part of a team made up of enthusiastic Engineers and Technicians to provide Engineering Solutions across a variety of sectors, including, Aviation, Rail, Water, Roads and Industrial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed structural drawings and plans based on Engineering designs
  • Utilise AutoCAD and other software for Structural drafting
  • Work closely with Structural Engineers and other team members to ensure accurate representation of design intent
  • Participate in design reviews and coordination meetings
  • Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards
  • Ensure adherence to project specifications and guidelines
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date project documentation
  • Assist in the preparation of technical reports and specifications
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Respond to queries and provide support during the construction phase
  • Stay informed about industry standards and software advancements
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior staff

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or relevant field
  • Proven experience as a Structural Technician in a Consulting or Engineering Firm
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant drafting software
  • Knowledge of Structural detailing and construction practices
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
