Our client is a global manufacturing company. They are looking for a Telecom Technical Sales Specialist to join them in the Southampton Area. The selected candidate will join their Telecom Commercial department.
Reporting to the Telecom Commercial Director, the main purpose of this role is to support the Connectivity and Optical Cables sales growth, working closely with Telecom Sales team throughout the Group and with the local Research and Development team to increase Telecom Sales.
Support the external sales team with technical support in customer meetings.
Detailed technical demonstrations in the field.
Support affiliates with technical support (Connectivity).
Support the UK internal sales team with pricing of non-standard designs, products that require changes to the Bill of Material and suggest part numbers.
Complete Connectivity and Optical enquires and tenders.
Supply customer feedback to the design team for any new design requirements or small customization.
Work closely with customers to generate new product requirements both in the UK and throughout the group (Connectivity).
Skills and experience
Degree Qualified or equivalent.
Commercial experience in both domestic and international markets is preferable.
Excellent knowledge of the Connectivity and Optical Cable business is essential.
Strong influencing and persuading skills.
Excellent knowledge of MS Office and SAP.
Good understanding of Production and Costing Bill of Materials and Product Routings in SAP.
Eager to learn, confident and motivated.
Excellent organisation skills.
39 hours per week.
