An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HV Commissioning Engineer to join a specialist power engineering business delivering major Transmission, Substation and Grid Connection projects across the UK. This HV Commissioning Engineer role is ideal for someone with experience commissioning high-voltage switchgear and transformers who enjoys working on complex transmission infrastructure and taking projects from installation through to energisation. The successful HV Commissioning Engineer will play a key role in delivering major National Grid, DNO and ICP projects, working alongside project engineers, site managers and client representatives to ensure commissioning activities are completed safely, efficiently and in line with industry standards. The Role As an HV Commissioning Engineer, you'll be responsible for: Planning and carrying out commissioning activities on HV substations and grid connection projects Commissioning AIS and GIS switchgear, transformers and associated primary plant Undertaking functional testing, protection testing and system commissioning Using commissioning equipment, including Omicron testing equipment Supporting energisation activities across transmission and distribution projects Producing commissioning documentation, test records and completion reports Liaising with DNOs, ICPs, National Grid representatives and project stakeholders Supporting outage planning, site acceptance testing and pre-energisation checks Ensuring all commissioning activities comply with industry safety standards and Permit to Work procedures Providing technical support to junior engineers where required This HV Commissioning Engineer position offers the opportunity to work on nationally significant infrastructure projects supporting the UK's electricity network.
