This role offers the chance to take charge of innovative designs, collaborate with talented teams, and deliver impactful solutions that truly make a difference. This is a hybrid role located in either Snodland or Derby. Key responsibilities Design cutting-edge mechanical infrastructure for clean water treatment plants, ensuring every detail meets and exceeds client expectations. Produce key design deliverables, including P&IDs, hydraulic calculations, pipework layouts, schedules, and mechanical general arrangements that bring projects to life. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop cohesive and forward-thinking design packages. Prepare detailed specifications and datasheets for essential equipment like pumps, valves, and screens, ensuring top-tier results. Dive into technical submissions to guarantee accuracy, compliance, and excellence. Share your expertise by presenting technical data and project milestones to both technical and non-technical audiences. Maintain your design input throughout every phase of the project—from the first idea to final handover. Take charge of budgets, timelines, and standards to ensure successful delivery of every project. Attend site meetings and inspections, seeing your designs come to life on the ground. Take on any additional challenges and responsibilities that keep projects moving and growing. Key requirements Proven success in a similar role, ideally with clean water projects. Degree in Mechanical Engineering (essential) or BTEC HNC/HND in an engineering field as a minimum. EUSR Water Hygiene Card, full UK driving license, and proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel. A natural troubleshooter with a strategic approach to overcoming challenges. Energetic collaborator who shares knowledge and builds up colleagues to achieve shared goals. They provide expert analysis, strategic planning, and project management to keep infrastructure projects on track. Our client’s approach is rooted in practical, principle-based decision-making, aiming to improve project outcomes by reducing complexity and enhancing collaboration. They work with key Utility providers in the South of England, and will be growing their team with AMP8 around the corner. Key responsibilities Provide leadership and direction to the project team.
