Attention all Principal Electrical Design Engineers! Blueprint Recruitment would like to speak with you regarding a new opportunity with a leading consultancy. Our client is looking for a highly experienced and motivated principal electrical design engineer. This role will operate on a hybrid basis, with up to three days in the London office. Our client is a leading engineering consultancy specialising in building service. They focus on a verity of sectors including offices, residences, retail, hotels, sports and leisure, airports, data centre, clean tech, and hospitals. Key Responsibilities: -Develop designs of electrical services and associated controls. -Attend and/or lead client, design team, professional, contractor and site meetings. -Produce Schematics, specifications, calculations, equipment schedules and reports to meet the required industry and legal standards. -Monitor and review the quality of the contractor's electrical installations, ensuring they meet the client's requirements and local standards / regulations. -Provide direction, leadership and vision to the discipline project team. Key Requirements: -A Bachelor's degree (BEng or equivalent) or a Master’s degree in a relevant field is preferred. -6-15 years’ experience as an electrical engineer in building services. -Holder of a Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional registration. -Ability to prioritise personal and team workloads, work to tight deadlines, and stay within budget constraints. -Willingness to mentor and support the growth of other team members. -Excellent communication and collaboration skills. -Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to handle and develop key client interactions. -Experience managing teams of engineers. ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

Blueprint Recruitment Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join an International Consultancy in Bristol. You would be supporting Building Services design across a wide range of sectors including Mission Critical, healthcare, transportation, defence, and energy. Experience in these areas would be of benefit to the role. Responsibilities Design and specification of all Electrical Building Services systems including power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, and lightning protection. Carry out and manage the production of detailed calculations using software tools such as Excel, Amtech, Dialux/Relux, and in-house tools. Prepare technical specifications using NBS. Collaborate with the BIM team to prepare models and drawings, with a working understanding of Autodesk Revit. Conduct site surveys, inspections, and monitor site works. Produce reports and technical notes. Manage own workload, updating workload plans regularly and working to time allocations. Manage elements of project delivery and understand budget costings. Review progress and report anomalies or scope changes to the project lead. Assist with the technical development of junior staff. Requirements Degree qualified, or equivalent, in Building Services Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related subject. Chartered Engineer with CIBSE or IET preferred. Proficient in software including Amtech/ProDesign, Dialux/Relux, NBS, and Microsoft packages. Experience with HV tools beneficial. Familiar with energy reduction methods and approaches to decarbonising buildings. Understanding of energy and carbon-related data capture and analytics. Awareness of building physics principles, passive design solutions, and fabric-first approaches. Competent in designing for measurement and verification, with commissioning and post-installation evaluation experience. Experience working in a design consultancy and/or contractor design environment is essential. Detailed knowledge of relevant technical standards. Able to take charge of deliverables, make decisions, act on own initiative, and operate proactively. Good report writing skills and experience presenting to and meeting with clients. Comfortable working within time and cost budgets as agreed at project briefing meetings. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects. This role is a Permanent full-time on-site position in London. As the successful candidate you will be required to work on a flexible hybrid basis, with 3 days in (either in office or on site, in London) and 2 days working from home.
